This event recognizes women volunteers who have given a life time of volunteering in the Twin Ports. It is always difficult with so many exceptional women who have given their time out of the goodness of their hearts.
The key note speaker for the Port Cities Luncheon this year is Christine Gradl Sietz, Executive and Artisitic Director of The Duluth Playhouse.The luncheon this year will be May 5th at 12:00 noon in the Radisson Hotel in Duluth. The cost is $17.00 and tickets must be purchased ahead of time from Marcia by calling 218-722-1042.
Christine will be speaking on Carpe Diem, Seize The Day.
A little background about Christine. She joined the Duluth Playhouse in 2000.She is the Executive Artistic Director for the Playhouse and is responsible for the artistic standards of productions along with budgeting, fundraising, grant wiritng, marketing and public relations.
Her extensive background is in nearly every aspect of the theater. Christine was a professional performer on Broadway and in regional theaters nationally and internationally for 20 years. Simultaneously she directed and choreographed more than 40 productions for various theaters across the nation. Her performance and directing career sent her to many interesting cities, countries and cultures working in nearly 200 theaters globally. In between shows, Christine has served on four State Arts Boards creating theater arts education programs for schools, grades K-12. Prior to moving to Duluth, she started a children’s theater in Rapid City, SD.
Christine is a member of Rotary Club 25, volunteers for the Acounstic Neuroma Association Support Group, and spends her free time cross country skiing, running, and golfing. She is married, and has quite the extended family with 5 stepdaughters and 5 grandchildren.
