Dr. de Lumen, Ph D from The University of Berkeley discoverd lunasin in soybeans in a grant from AICR. He and another doctor from the University of Illinois, Eliviar de Mejia found that if you gave young men 50 grams of lunasin in a milk shake for five days there was signifigant amounts of lunasin that stayed in their blood, and it may be there to help fight cancer. They are now studying to see if it may help prevent other cancers such as prostate, breast and colon cancers.
Lunasin is the most widely know of the isoflavones because of it’s ability to slow cancer. It is found in soy, barley, wheat and rye. It is also called lunas.
