News From The Arrowhead Radio Amateur Club:

Jeff Nast, an employee of SMDC received the 2010 Thomas J. Reibold W91BM Memorial Award. Jim Anderson received it in 2009. This award is presented for dedicaton for the futherance and encouragment of participation in Amateur Radio in the Twin Ports Area. For one year the awardee holds on to the full plaque and then the following year they receive their very own your plaque, as Anderson did the other night. It is quite the honor to receive this award.

The club donated four large boxes of groceries to the Salvation Army on 12/10/2010. Each year they collect canned goods at their holiday social.

Amateur Radio will be having a beginners class starting 1/19-3/9 at Duluth Central High School. Bob Schultz and Jim Anderson are the instructors. You can register through Community Schools when the information is available.  This is instruction and testing for those who want to become Ham radio operators. This class covers everyting youneed to know to get on the air, so you can really enjoy this new hobby. The Arrowhead Amateur Radio is very active in our region and has many members. ( Even high way patrol employees take this class.) The class will run on Wednesday nights from 6:00-8:00 during the dates listed above.
