Last Night We Went To The “Ice Cube” In The Amsoil Arena

Last night Roger Reinhert had a free open invitation “get together “at the Ice Cube. It was a great turn out and fun to network with some folks one had not seen for awhile.

The new Amsoil Arena has all burgundy and gold seats making you wonder the patttern, as your eyes keep searching.  A hockey game of younger folks was going on with the arena graced with sponsor signs (Country Inn, UMD, Sheraton, Subway, Interstate Oil, Old Dutch, Culvers, Great Clips, Westmoreland Flint, MP & L, Toyota, St. Lukes, Essentia Health, Amsoil, Pepsi, Holiday Inn, Fly Duluth, and Acme Tools. (I hope I didn’t miss any.)

Upstairs are many small restraurant areas that are open during prime time from The Park Point Grill, The Enger Tower Grill, Bayfront Pizza, and Skyline Ice Cream. Hope I didn’t miss any of these specially named sites.

There is also the The Hockey Hall of Fame, and even a family washroom. I noticed quotes on the wall. There are many other rooms such as press rooms, etc.

One quote I remember was by Laura Erickson, “”Chickadees live lives with good cheer, their optimism steeped not in expectations but in this future life that this planet is good. (I think these were the words.) It brought memories of my bringing a bird to her house years ago that was injured.

Roger is a great Minnesota representative working for the good of our people with true sincerity.

“For last year’s words belong to last year’s language. And next year’s words await another voice. And to make an end is to make a beginning.”

-T.S. Eliot

This is going to be a difficult year balancing budgets for the state, city, and federal government.
