Solid Rock is a homeless shelter for men located at 1004 N. 6th St. in Superior, Wisconsin (54880). The telephone number is 1.715.392.6264. It is a program affilated with the Northwest Wisconsin Community Services Agency, Inc. Check out their website at: www.northwest-csa.org. There is also another phone number listed: 1.715.392.5127. It’s good to know this information because I don’t know how many times service organizations have left over food from a fundraiser. Who can they bring it to? What agency will take it? Unfortunately often time it is tossed, when it could be used at an agency like this. I think there is a restaurant re-heat up law that you can only re-heat it one more time.
This organization stems back to 1938 under the Peoples Gospel Mission. In 1980 it was recognized as the Soldid Rock Safe Haven under the guidance of the Solid Rock Outreach Ministries. Over the years it has helped countless men, women and children. They provide 3 squares a day, dormitory sleeping, lockers for property, shower and laundry facilties, emergency transporation, used clothing, a computer lab to help find employment and write a resume, and help withaccesssing other community resources.
Bread Table-open to the public except on Sundays. Public meals are at noon and dinner at 5, except on Sundays.
There is also the Harbor House Crisis Shelters, a ministry of Faith United Methodist Churches. (firstname.lastname@example.org) They take donations for the shelters ministry.
