Chemo Landscape is Changing

December 14

Not all breast cancer patients need chemo. The landscape is changing on chemotherapy. Surgery and radiation therapy represent the standard of care for isolated local and regional recurrence of breast cancer.

Results from a global study called CALOR (Chemotherapy as Adjuvant for Locally Recurrent Breast Cancer) provides clear evidence that adjuvant chemotherapy is warranted , at least for ER negative recurrences. This study involved 162 patients.  The ER positive study data is not mature yet but show promising results.
