The University of Minnesota-College of Pharmacy is ranked among the top three pharmacy schools in the nation by US News and World Report. It offers the Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.)
The College recently celebrated the 10 year anniversary of expanding in Duluth at UMD (University of Minnesota). Each class is comprised of 170 students.
The Duluth Campus is known for its emphasis on filling the need for pharmacists who will practice in rural settings, as well as Outreach activities such as Health Fairs in the community that screen for high blood pressure, high cholesterol, high blood sugars, bone density in women and reviewing medications in their training. (I remember going to a health fair and being diagnosed with high blood pressure. I was told to see my family doctor.)
The average GPA at admission is 3.5, the average age is 25, and 90% have a BA/BS degree. Sixty five percent are female. Sixty three per cent are Minnesotans.
