I think we as the American public are more concerned about toxins than ever before. We walk around with toxins in our bodies that if tested (blood and urine testing) would show we are carriers. This comes from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention or the CDC.
I think we just wish there would be more restrictions on the toxins in our lives. This includes chemicals that people clean with, that are in food, and the environment. The list is longer than this. Toxins are everywhere know days.
Unfortunately there is little research or not enough by the government. Check out the National Institute of Environmental Studies, etc. Google other sources of research. We don’t see clinical trials on toxins very often as no one seems to fund it.
Did you know that the CD tests for 212 for more than 80,000 chemica? Some that we hear a lot about is BPA that is used in polycarbonate plastics and epoxy, perchlorate found in fireworks and explosives, perfluorinated chemicals used in nonstick cookware, and acrylamide used in making french fries. This is just some.
There is concern above syrene used in plastic, rubber, fiberglass and resins.
In actually any chemical that can disrupt the body’s immune system is worth looking at because we know that can cause cancer.
Some chemicals can also effect sperm count as well. I even read that smoking and drinking can effect sperm count somewhere.
We have known about pesticides and their risk in Alzheimer’s disease.
We do know that lead can causes neurological problems with young children.and asbestos can cancer cancer.
The Toxic Substances Control Act has not been updates since 1976. Isn’t it time?
We read websites that talk about detoxifying your body. I see it all the time. I would rather not detoxify my body. I would like a Toxin Free Environment. Why don’t we see ads on this topic? A human being with all the toxins in their body. No wonder we can’t cure cancer. Our hormones, metabolism is all screwed up. Very young children are really at risk. Their bodies are growing at an amazing rate.
In Minnesota, five of the six leading causes of death among American Indians are related to commercial tobacco use: cancer, coronary heart disease, diabetes, stroke and lower respiratory disease. This fact comes from QuitPlan. In the American Indian population cigarette smoking is very prevalent. For example 48% of American Indian men and 40% of American Indian women smoke.
Secondhand smoke is harmful to nonsmokers, as it contains toxins and cancer causing poisons.
Did you know that the tobacco industry commonly uses cultural symbols to target racial or ethnic populations? They use the words American Spirit cigarettes to promote natural tobacco and the package features an American Indian smoking a pipe.
Tobacco has been used and is used in cultural traditions.

The Duluth Grill Cookbook by Robert Lillegard and photography by Rolf Hagsberg can be purchased at the restaurant on 27th Avenue West. The book tells how they changed their direction of the restaurant to urban gardens, gardens on the roof, outdoor gardening at the restaurant, and buying locally. It is jam packed full of home made from scratch recipes used in the restaurant. For example bison pot roast, Jamia’s lasagna, wild rice burgers, roasted brussel sprouts, sweet potato sides, scotch eggs, red flannel hash, great smoothies, tasty salad dressings and much more.
